FAQ:
What ages do you work with?
I work with adults and children from the age of 6 upwards.
What is the difference between psychotherapy (talk therapy) and hypnotherapy?
Psychotherapy focuses on conscious thoughts and behaviours through conversation or other techniques, while hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to access the subconscious mind for change. Both are effective in creating change and a discussion will always be had about what the recommended course of treatment should be in order to meet a specific goal.
What if I think I can't be hypnotised?
You get to decide if you are hypnotised and it takes a strong mind, so if you've got one you'll be very good at getting yourself into that relaxed state, all I will do is direct you towards that state. Like any skill, the more you practice hypnosis, the better you get at it and you'll probably find that it gets easier and easier to enter into that relaxed state the more often you try it.
Can I be 'controlled'?
Absolutely not. As stated above you are in charge of all aspects of hypnosis; I am just the guide. You do and say what you want, when you want and at any point in the therapy session you can open your eyes and bring yourself out of hypnosis if you wish to. This is a professional practice and you are totally safe and in control at all times.
Can I get 'stuck'?
No. Hypnosis is a totally natural state into which we enter all the time on a daily basis (like driving somewhere you go to all the time and suddenly realising you don't remember how you got there - that's hypnosis!) You are in control at all times and can come out at any time.
