Fears and phobias |
|
I’m sure most people would admit to having a fear of something. This is a normal characteristic and is part of an instinctive urge to keep safe.
However sometimes these fears become out of proportion to the need for safety. It is when this happens that a phobia can develop.
Maybe as a child you were faced with an object or situation that made you fearful. Perhaps at that time you hadn’t gained the skills to rationalise it and so as you grew this phobia grew with you and assumed even greater significance.
Maybe as an adult you were faced with a fear in a situation that you couldn’t control. Perhaps a loss of confidence made a natural fear develop into a phobia.
With hypnotherapy you can be guided to reach your inner resources. You can be helped to create new meanings to these fears and so alleviate the anxiety associated with it. |
